Information technology and systems are a critical part of our individual, corporate and national infrastructure; ensuring their security is vital to givernment and business. The Certificate in Cybersecurity is the first step in developing a cadre of skilled information security specialists and astute information security managers. Fourteen competency areas have been identified as part of the Information Security essential body of knowledge and these areas are covered coherently in this program of study. This certificate program is designed to be further integrated into additional graduate study toward the Master of Science in Information Technology or the Master of Science in Computer Science.
This program is designed for students who have a solid background in Computer Science or Information Technology, either through formal study or professional experience.
Candidates admitted to the program must have a bachelor’s degree with at least a 2.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale from an accredited institution.
To apply for the program, candidates must submit a Graduate School application (www.hood.edu/graduate), official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended and a resume of work experience.
