Areas of Interest: 
Dr. Chang holds degrees in pure mathematics, but drifted into computer science over the years. She was an active member of the department for 46 years, from 1972 to 2018. She served as chairperson of the Department for 19 of those years.
She also took on other responsibilities, securing NSF funding and serving as project director for Hood's Computer Augmented Undergraduate Science Education project from 1978 to 1981. She was special executive assistant to the president from 1993 to 1997.
She served on most major commitees of the College. She was an elected commissioner of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education from 1990 to 1996 and participated in numerous accreditation visits and reviews
She taught courses at all levels from precalculus to complex variables and from BASIC programming to Web Services. Her favorite courses were geometry, Perl programming, and Freshman Seminar.
She is proud of the programs she helped develop, especially achieving ABET accreditation for the BSCS program. But she is most proud of the many students she taught and inspired over those years.
